Chief Allied Health Professions Officer Awards 2023 Winner
We are delighted to announce that Headway North Staffordshire and Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust’s (MPFT) joint working has been recognised at a national level. Since February 2022 we have been working closely with MPFT to develop a new rehabilitation service model.
The service features NHS neuro physiotherapy and occupational therapy staff on site two days per week who carry out initial assessments and develop personalised exercise programmes for individuals.
The service was nominated for an award at the recent Chief Allied Health Professions Awards, winning in the category Innovation and Improvement within Integrated Care Systems award 2023 (awarded by NHS England). The award panel said, “The project epitomises collaborative partnership models that join up services for improved patient care, reducing health inequalities, and increasing access to services.”
Michelle Gunnery, Headway North Staffordshire Trustee, said, “We are thrilled to have won this prestigious award, it is a testament to the skill, commitment, and passion of everyone involved. However, for me, the biggest winners are the people we support because they experience better outcomes in terms of their rehabilitation.”
