A big thank you to the Postcode Local Trust

Last year Headway North Staffordshire received an award from Postcode Local Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. The multi-purpose grant was used to provide activities and services that aid with rehabilitation after an acquired brain injury.

The £20,000 grant was used to deliver pottery workshops, swimming sessions, provide a counselling service, run 20 weeks speech and language therapy support, and establish a physio and occupational therapy service.

Chief Officer, Rob Thomson, explains, “As a small, local charity it is a constant struggle to find funding. We approached Postcode Local Trust to fund several activities that would add value to the work we do. The generous award of £20,000 enabled Headway North Staffordshire to pilot onsite speech and language provision, provide access to a counsellor and establish a physiotherapy and occupational therapy service. This would not have been possible without the generous support from the Postcode Local Trust.”
